In 1951, Lincoln again used the same bodies, with the major styling change in the rear fenders and taillights. Lincoln produced 16,761 of the smaller 1EL series and 15,813 of the larger 1EH series.
The smaller sedan was again the most popular body style, with 12,279 units, but the Cosmopolitan sedan was close, with a production figure of 12,229. Wheelbase remained the same, but power was reported at 154 bhp.
The Cosmopolitan convertible weighed 4,615 pounds and sold for $3,891.00. The “baby” Lincolns won the 1951 Mobilgas Economy Run this year, with an average of 25.448 mpg.
